While reading in a Golf magazine about some Wellness packages my blood froze as I recalled my worst trip ever immediately. Many many years ago (dating my first bf) we decided to go on a romantic trip for 5 days to an Austrian 5 star Wellness hotel during a long October weekend.
It was hell of a nightmare. We nearly killed each other as the humid air attacked not just our braincells but it also led to a wellness depression. Constant rain, falling leaves and low temperature.
I felt trapped in a cage of doctors and their wives calling themselves also Doctor, despite their lack of academic archievments, some dubious architects and some other better middle-class golfers, thinking that they are living the nice life and carrying a huge attitude with their enormous golfbags. During dinner, Satres “Geschlossene Gesellschaft” met again and there was no escaping as the fog surrounded the hotel like a fluffy cotton ball.
Don’t get me wrong. I love facial treatments, spa time. At the Plaza Athénée (DIOR SPA, hello peak of decadence-how lovely), Meurice, Claridge, even everywhere in Vienna. 1st district of course. But when it comes to those weekend trips, they better be in a civilized city where I can leave the building for a swanky dinner date. Thanks god my husband is on the same page with me.
Speaking of: I will try Shellac this week for the first time in my life as I need nice fingers for the presentation of my venture. Will give you all the details then….
PICS: Heaven has a name: Plaza Athénée (DIOR SPA)
