My memberclub story

Having an own blog has a big advantage: You don’t need to tell the same story over and over again as some of your friends are kind or interested enough to read it. So. I planned to visit Annabels and Lou Lous, two of the most exclusive member clubs in London.

The experience. After telling my Lou Lou story to my dear Petra she said “Such a Dorsia Moment.” And nobody else on this planet would know what she means but me.

Remember the movie American Psycho? Pat Bateman calls the Dorsia, NY hottest restaurant, for a reservation and they are laughing at him? He ends up taking his super stoned date to a random restaurant and telling her that this is Dorsia. And she was just ” What, really? Oh cool. ”

I could have done the same with some pictures. I could have lied at you, specially as everybody wishing me Happy Birthday asked me in the second sentence “And did you make it?“. And the answer is simple and short: No. I can find different excuses but in the end I have to blame it on me. I should have known that I can’t rely on one persons on that matter. Specially not somebody living in London. I figured out that british people are a bit like the japanese. They don’t say No. They say: should not be a problem. Which is the equivalent to No. But I was so busy with thinking about an adequate outfit that I didn’t want to see the signs.

We went to Annabels on Monday, which was kind of empty. Some guys arrived in their Rolls Royce and left the driver outside. But even half empty Annabels is really fun and entertaining with their waiters in the white dinner jackets. Being super polite. In the basement. Yes, that’ s were Annabels is located . In the basement. Providing a “restaurant”, a dance floor and a bar, the venue offers that much that the queen has chosen Annabels to be the ONLY “night club” she ever visited.

I scheduled Lou Lous on Tuesday, my birthday. We have chosen the closest restaurant (Nobu) to make the evening perfect. When  the text hit my phone at 9 o’clock: “Sorry I can’t reach the guy and he is not answering my calls.” I was devastated. And sad. As I stopped people asking a week before I left town about LouLous BECAUSE I got a solid confirmation that it will work out. But it didn`t. And it was too late to call somebody else, at 9 pm. My husband wanted to try to call some friends but I said it is not meant to be. Obviously.

I made it into Annabels, I had an awesome and romantic trip, received the most adorable shoes I could ever dreamed of, but everybody keeps asking me if I made into Lou Lous. And no, sorry doors remained closed for GlossyTimes.

I finished my Cod at Nobu, passed by when looking for a cab and Paparazzi were waiting in front of the house. Guess what? Pippa partying inside. The paparazzi told me.

But don’t pity me, I wouldn’t talk her up anyway.

Stay elegant, even without getting into Lou Lous.

B.

Please watch the video as I cant implement it anymore. Have to call my IT guy. AGAIN.

    dear glossy,
what really convinces me is your supernatural straightforwardness : )
probably lou lou wasn´t worth it anyway, so never mind.
