Shopping in London 2013 is very different from shopping 2006. I remember people going crazy at Selfridges and the Oxford street (main shopping street) being flooded with the yellow Selfridges shopping bags. But times have changed. The luxury market is just serving two main client groups: rich arabs and rich russians. Maybe some wealthy british people but I haven seen anybody of this group buying anything. So. I went to Libertys, Harvey Nichols, Harrods, Browns, Joseph in South Ken and guess what?
Everywhere the same. The same brands and the same selection. Actually it doesn’t matter WHERE you buy your clothes. Contemporary dresses like Tory Burch start with 500 pounds (about 600 Euros) (minimum) being Polyester and the nice stuff starts with 1500 Pounds having not even a proper zipper. I mean at one point you want to treat yourself with a decent dress which is not fashion. Which is just style, right? But the price range nowadays is ridiculous. For the quality you get.
So. I bought some small stuff, a brilliant violet dress which I will post shortly and got my Chanel shoes.
Have a good start into the week and work hard to afford at least a contemporary dress.
