Steiermark: Fly fishing in Austria

Posted on / by GlossyTimes

I am back! You are wondering where I have been? In the Austrian version of Scotland,  aka Steiermark. Very green, very beautiful, many cows, few people, a lot of rain.  Since my husband is fly fishing in the 3rd generation we are traveling quite often to Steiermark to meet  a bunch of Frenchmen and enjoy the river. Not me. I am reading a book. This time “The History of Haute Couture” . Since I tell  you quite often about the trip I thought I might give you a bit of a peek what this magic place is about. Just a note: the Nymph at the water is a wedding gift of the house owner’s father, given by  Baron Gutmann. And being presented at the Weltaustellung in 1902. My favorite part of the estate….

And one insider tip: Holzer marmalade. I am hooked. You can get it at Joseph Brot. And hopefully one day online. As this jam is skyrocketing.

I will bring back some matching tea from UK next week when traveling to London. And fingers crossed I will make it into Lou Lou`s this time.

Stay elegant,

B.

Hi, its called Reith. All the French people go there as this is supposed to be the best water in Austria for fly fishing.
